The name Petite Abeille (pronounced {puh-teet a-bay} means, “Little Bee,” and is also the title of a children’s book, popular in the 1970’s in Belgium. This restaurant is artistically decorated with Tintin and other Belgian comic book characters to bring the culture of Belgium to life. The décor also conveys the warmth of a full-service, casual dining experience. From the murals on the walls to the savory aromas as you walk through their doors-- Petite Abeille offers an experience and menu that is truly a freshness you can see and taste. Owners of Petite Abeille say their commitment is for each guest to enjoy his or her entire experience – the atmosphere, the value and of course, the great food.

Company founder, Yves Jadot, had tested his entrepreneurial success on a restaurant concept of a different color when he first opened the doors of Petite Abeille Chelsea in March of 1996. Yves’ vision was to provide New Yorkers with the fine quality of traditional Belgian food at an affordable price, served up in a warm and friendly atmosphere. This was his chance to demonstrate his uncompromising passion for quality, food and people.
The idea worked well as Yves pioneered Belgian cuisine in the Meatpacking district of New York City. Since then, Yves and his brothers, David and Christophe, have expanded Petite Abeille. There are now 3 additional locations in Greenwich Village, Tribeca and Peter Cooper Village.

They do not seem to have their communication with Seamless-or Delivery well sorted out. There is always some problem with the Seamless menu vs what they actually have on the restaurant menu. Frustrating!

They told me that they did not have the right dish and made me call to the Seamless office. I asked them if there's other way than cancelling the whole order such as replacing the dish , but the woman who was on the phone had such an horrible attitude and hung up on me . Their service is not as great as the food. Too bad.

Despite an estimate of 30-45 minute delivery time my food had not arrived after an hour, when I called they said it was one its way. When I called 10 minutes later the women said it was on its way, when I asked how long she estimated a half an hour and that they were still cooking it and then would have to wait for the delivery guy to return.

Always quick and fresh. They didn't have a sandwich I ordered after 5pm and gave me a more expensive item without question. Always delicious!!

Solid french faire. Stick to the basics-- what you'd expect they'd do well, not what you'd hope they (also) do well-- i.e., don't order a chicken sandwich.

Everything I have gotten from this place has been delicious. The waffle with fresh strawberries and the signature burger are two of my favs.

Going in there can be hit or miss, usually miss on the service, so delivery is a good option. They do a good job of packaging, so it isn't really soggy when it gets to you, but I occasionally feel a little shortchanged portion-wise when I get entrees delivered. Overall certainly a good option for delivery.

Prompt delivery. Freshest food. Note, the menu needs to be updated. Cod is no longer available and you will receive catfish. Wish I'd known that before ordering for a kosher friend. I'd recommend visiting this place too as they have great beer specials and the service is always spectacular. The manager is super friendly and welcomes me as if he knows me.

It took and hour and a half to get here. The food was cold and mediocre.

Food is good; delivery is fast. Try the waffle with strawberries and whipped cream - you won't be sorry! :)
